After a long winter our backyard often appeared to be deadly and very sad. But with some refreshment, we can turn them into some amazing places to relax. AlexMartinez has refreshed his backyard and it looks incredibly stunning! It’s amazing how much fresh mulch fixes the overall aesthetic! Want to have a try? After a long winter my backyard was looking very sad. We moved into this place late in the summer last year so I didnt get a chance to work on it and get it all nice and pretty. The people that lived here before let the yard go when they decided they were gonna move too so that didnt help.
Deck needs paint bad!
More of the deck. and dogs.
Crap load of stuff from HomeDepot. Who needs a trunk when you got a hatch right?
Decided to start with the mulch. Added new landscape fabric and pulled some of the plants that were just overgrowing. I had to re-dig the plastic dividers from the grass and the mulch due to roots from the tree pulling them out. That was a real pain in my butt. Also added fertilizer and seed to the grass.
My dog says “Yo, paint the deck bro!”
I didn’t take any photos of the stripping but I ended up getting an electric pressure washer. Ryobi 1800PSI and it did a very nice job. I figured I would use it later on with other home project anyway.
Here is all finished. I applied 2 coats of BEHR Premium DeckOver. Expensive stuff but well worth it. Nice texture to it and it should keep the deck looking nice with the harsh weather we get in Colorado.
Pretty photo all finished. I added some cafe light strips over the deck for those nice summer nights, two tiki torches on each side of the deck and two person hammock to sleep outside this summer. I took this photos about two weeks ago so the grass is already looking much better with the seed, fertilizer and of course evening showers. Next project I wanna do is pressure wash the whole fence but not too sure if my little electric pressure washer could take that job all in one day. Thanks for watching!
