Before They Pass Away: Stunning Photos of World’s Ancient Tribes
Every day we get up from the cozy bed, turn on the TV to see what’s happening in the other side of the world, and take food from the fridge. We never have a second thought on those remote tribes in the world, nor can we imagine the life of them. Then the brave and talented photographer, Jimmy Nelson, started to record the life-style of the world’s tribes before they pass away. He set off on his own to traverse the length of Tibet in China on foot, intending to reveal images of a previously inaccessible Tibet. The journey took him a year. And later he has been to many places in the world that are basically inaccessible to the modern world, and make them in public using his camera. His initial intention was to ensure that the world never forgets how things used to be. According to him, “Most importantly, I wanted to create an ambitious aesthetic photographic document that would stand the test of time, a body of work that would be an irreplaceable ethnographic record of a fast disappearing world.”
