Robert Wysocki, a professor at Syracuse University in upstate New York, has spent 5 years working to perfect a technique to make lava in the furnace. And chef Sam Bompas got in touch with him, explaining how he’s always wanted to cook with lava, and professor Wysocki instantly agreed to help him.
The researchers created an artificial flow of Lava for the team to cook on. and the result is awesome, Bompas even said that it was the best steak he has ever had in his life, because of the lack of smoke and high temperature.
1. Sam Bompas cooked on a lava flow which reached temperatures of 2,700F
2. A grill was clamped over the lava flow to allow the chef easy access
3. The finished steak and corn, which Bompas described as the best he’d ever eaten
4. Bompas wore special protective clothing die the the heat and his proximity to the lava
5. The lava is full
6. Incredibly stunning!
